This leaflet was created based on the themes depicted in the documentary Les glaneurs et la glaneuse by Agnés Varda.  Throughout the documentary, we follow Varda through a journey of finding people that still practice gleaning, which used to be know as something farmers commonly did after an harvest. The director, extrapolating the concept, shows us activities from her current timeline that could be considered gleaning and gives an interesting perspective on for example, combating food waste and repurposing materials in creative ways.

This project pays homage to that. The leaflet presents important moments from the documentary that can answer the question “What is gleaning?” in very different ways.
